Strong ale fermented in Sauternes casks. The Golden Net draws inspiration from the pale, dry stock Scotch ales of the 19th Century. It was brewed with single origin Scottish malt from @craftymaltsters and hopped with whole cones of East Kent Goldings in the boil.
It was then fermented warm in our open fermenters, to encourage maximum fruity esters, before a slow, secondary fermentation in Sauternes casks with more East Kent Goldings and our house Brettanomyces strains. When matured, it was blended with fresh beer and allowed to referment in bottles and kegs.
