Retro Game Pop-Up + Elusive Brewing Tap Takeover
After the success of our pop-up with Laurel Tree Books earlier this summer, we knew we wanted to do more of them.
So, on Sunday 27 September, Brick Road will be taking over part of Grunting Growler for a retro video game pop-up.
They’ll be bringing along vintage games, consoles and memorabilia to browse from 1–5 PM. Alongside that, we’ll have an Elusive Brewing tap takeover pouring three beers:
- Oregon Trail (Original)
- Sorachi Trail
- Final Boss: Citra
For us, these events are about more than giving people another reason to come down for a beer. Supporting other small businesses and helping build a proper community around the shop has always been important to us.
Before Grunting Growler had a permanent home, I started out doing pop-ups myself. Other businesses gave me the opportunity to use their spaces, meet people and slowly build GG into what it is now. We wouldn’t be here without people taking a chance on us, so it feels right to return the favour whenever we can.
The Laurel Tree Books pop-up showed us how well it can work. It brought together good beer, a brilliant independent business and loads of people who might not otherwise have crossed paths. That’s exactly the kind of thing we want to keep doing.
This time, Brick Road will be bringing the nostalgia. Come down, have a look through what they’ve brought along, grab a beer and talk about the games you spent far too many hours playing growing up.
No pressure and no big fuss. Just retro games, cold beer and another great Glasgow independent taking over the shop for the day.
